How did the ring of fire get its name?

the ring of fire got its name by its hourse shoes shape and all the volcanic eruption and plate tectonic which over laped one another as they moved triggered the systen under ground and they all erupted. but also because of the rock cycle some other volcanoes and earthquakes formed and erupted some at the same time and some others dont erupt for a couple of years.
