Asteroids question need help?

Movie companies use small models or mockups of asteroids, OR they use a lot of computer power to generate images of what they want you to see. Neither way actually uses "real" asteroids. Many of the "asteroids" I've seen in movies (Armageddon being prime example), look nothing like telescopic or satellite photos of real asteroids. But, it's Hollywood, not science.
